Suddenly, it's that time of year! Detroit Synergy's Shop Detroit project is back for a fifth year—and bigger than before. This year we're doing four—yes, four—shopping days in four different Detroit neighborhoods!

  • November 29th: Downtown
  • December 6th: Midtown/University & Cultural Center
  • December 13th: Russell Industrial Center
  • December 20th: Eastern Market

Looking to do more than just shop? Then we want YOU!

We need volunteers to help distribute flyers far and wide, deliver posters to merchants, and help staff our check-in table on each event day—two hour blocks are recommended, but you can take more shifts if you want! Detroit. It's Worth It. Calendar Now Available for Purchase AND Pick-Up!

The 2009 Detroit. It's Worth It. Calendars are now available for pick up!

If you have already ordered a calendar, you can pick it up on the dates and locations listed below. If you haven't ordered one yet, you can still pay with a credit card online or purchase one at these events.

  • Third Thursday at Pewabic Pottery on Thursday, November 20th from 6:30-8:00pm
  • Pecha Kucha Night at the DIA on Tuesday, November 25th from 6:30-11:00pm
  • Shop Detroit in Downtown at the Lofts of Merchants Row on Saturday, November 29th from 11am-4pm
  • Shop Detroit in Midtown on Saturday, December 6th from 11am-4pm
  • DSG General Meeting on Thursday, December 11th from 6:30-8:00pm
  • Shop Detroit at the Russell Industrial Center on Saturday, December 13th from 11am-4pm
  • Third Thursday at Atlas Global Bistro on Thursday, December 18th from 6:30-8:00pm
  • Shop Detroit in Eastern Market on Saturday, December 20th from 11am-4pm
  • The Mercury Bar, located at 2163 Michigan Ave., Detroit
  • Zaccaro's Market, located at 3100 Woodward Ave., Detroit

The calendars are only $15 each! And with the holidays just around the corner, they make great gifts for any Detroit lover! So get one (or a dozen) today! Ongoing Projects and Events

General Meetings provide the opportunity to find out about new projects, discover a new Detroit organization, and how to get involved with Detroit Synergy. Occurs the 2nd Thursday of every month @ 6:30pm at different locations around the city. See calendar as date approaches for more details.

Third Thursdays are a great opportunity to connect with members of the Detroit Synergy community. Whether you are new to the organization, or well-traveled on the Synergy circuit, you will feel welcome at this community networking event. And each month, we partner with a different Detroit Charity and collect donations for them. Occurs the 3rd Thursday of every month @ 6:30pm. Bus to Work Campaign: A Transit Project Want to help strengthen mass transit in metro Detroit? Is there a bus stop near your workplace? Sign-up to post an educational flier at your workplace that describes the local routes and the personal cost savings.  Its easy - just click here to get started and we'll produce a customized flier for you to post. Discussing Differences  is a collaboration between Detroit Synergy and The Michigan Roundtable for Diversity and Inclusion (MRDI) to help Metro Detroiters break down racial and social barriers by using MRDI’s 'Trading Places' dialogue series. Interested participants can email the project leads at discussingdifferences@detroitsynergy.org

Pecha Kucha Night is a presentation format in which a presenter has 20 slides, and can only spend 20 seconds on each slide. Started in Tokyo, there are now "Pecha Kucha Nights" all around the world.  Help us start one in Detroit! We are an all volunteer organization of Detroit and metro-area residents who share a vision for Detroit and believe there are thousands of people who, if given the opportunity, would bring their vision of a Detroit alive and awaken the potential of one of the world's most misunderstood metropolises.

DSG is powered by member-driven projects and initiatives. Our projects strive to inject positive energy into the city and seek to drive the creation of a stronger community for the future. Our scope is broad enough to include all of the diverse ideas that make up a strong, vibrant and cosmopolitan city.
